I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
